EAST BRADFORD CHURCHES TOGETHER (EBCT), AND INTER-FAITH MEETINGS
‘Father, may they all be One’.
The parish of St Mary is part of two ecumenical groups.
Bradford Moor, Laisterdyke and Thornbury comprises ‘East Bradford Churches Together’ which has 8 churches, made up of Catholic, Anglican, Methodist/ Baptist congregations and the Salvation Army. We meet together each month for shared prayer, on the Second Sunday of each month at 7.00pm.
The venues for the 1st part of 2010 are as follows:
17th January St Peter’s (the day before start of Week of Prayer for Christian Unity)
21st February St Clement’s on Barkerend Road
March 28th (please note change of date) Thornbury Methodist (next door to McDonald’s)
April 18th The Salvation Army (on Leeds Road, below St Peter’s school)
May 16th St Margaret’s Thornbury (The Thornbury Centre near Morrison’s)
June 20th Laisterdyke Trinity Church (next door to Mr Value at Laisterdyke)
July 18th St Peter’s
All are most welcome.
A small group of Christians in this same area also meet 3-4 times a year with their Muslim, Sikh and Hindu neighbours – to visit each other’s places of worship, to discuss issues of common concern, to eat together, and to share the scriptures together.
