In 2006, the then Bishop of Leeds instigated a re-organisation of the Bradford Deanery which led to the closure of a number of Catholic churches and amalgamation of parishes. Among them was St. Peter's Laisterdyke and St. Columba's Tong Street, with Fr. Frank Smith becoming the first Parish Priest.

Our Parish now covers a wide area, and includes districts such as Barkerend, Bradford Moor, Bierley, East Bierley, Bowling, Dudley Hill, Holmewood, Laisterdyke, Leeds Road, Thornbury, Tyersal and Wakefield Road.
